It Takes A Village
Even when times are hard in life, I’ve always found a way to maneuver around it.
No matter what I’ve faced, I’ve always chosen to remain strong as a black man in the City of
Camden. And maybe that can be an inspiration for someone else to follow, like a mold or a
model because I know it’s hard out here for folks in Camden. They’re all just trying to make it,
or trying to come up in some type of way.
Especially the young ones today, the trying to find a model and someone to steer them in the
right direction… We’re most importantly a city where we need to come up together as a
community to learn how to raise our children, how to be a better influence on others and better in
life itself. This way the city can be impacted, instead continuing the separation that’s going on
within our community.
As a believer in Christ, I would like for all of my brothers and sisters to come into unity and
bring the City of Camden back to its firmer roots, through prayer and action. As a community we
have the skills and the tools to make our community a better place, and we can do that by starting
to connect with one another. This change can’t happen by just one person, it takes a better
community of people to make it a better nation.
